When I scored a winning goal I felt important to the team.
It was a humid, hot, and sunny day at the last game of the season. It was going well, but, unfortunately, we were losing. Four of our strongest players were out on injury. Our team was desperate! Coach Weeks, decided to put me, a defender, in as a striker. Before I knew it, the ball was sailing right over the other teams head and thudded right at my feet! There was no defenders blocking me, and I saw a clear shot and took it! Their goalie soared to try to block the shot but missed by an inch and just as the whistle chirped too! We had won and the fans went WILD! I was so full of pride I felt like I could explode! My mom and Dad were proud, and my Coach and Team were happy for me also. That is what winning is supposed to be all about. And that, is the time I scored the winning goal!
